Feel
Author: Rinatta Paries
Recently I had a conversation with a friend about relationships.
She told me she does not have a relationship and has not had one for the last few years. I asked her if she was complete with her divorce and the relationship right after that. She said she had no feeling left about her old relationships.
Later in our conversation she told me she managed to forget her husband by getting into a subsequent relationship. She was amazed at how she could forget a marriage so easily. Then she told me she still had feelings for the man she forgot her husband with.
Is she ready for a new relationship? Perhaps, if she wants her next relationship to closely resemble her previous two. But not if she wants something different.
The only way to forget a relationship as soon as you enter the next one is to transfer your unfelt and unrecognized feelings to your new partner.
The only way to continue to have feelings for someone gone for years is to not acknowledge, recognize, or feel them.
The only way to do this is hold your needs, wants and desires trapped in your heart, unfelt, unmet, waiting for the next unsuspecting partner.
How do you feel about your past relationship? Have you swept your feelings under the rug? Are you still secretly pining for someone?
If so, remember, as long as you don't let yourself feel, you will recreate exactly what you had in the past. If you want something different, a fulfilling relationship, you have to feel.
