Your Life's Checklist

Some writers go through a final checklist before feeling that the piece they are working on is complete. The checklist might include items such as correct spelling, proper grammar and marketability. Usually, whether or not the marketability item is checked determines if the writer finishes the work.

What's Einstein and da Vinci Got to do with Creativity in Business?
Author: M. Garrett Wheeler

On the surface, business creativity sounds like an oxymoron. Most believe, creativity applies to the art world, and is not in applicable in the realm of business. Speaking for myself, I believe business is an extremely creative form of expression. Think about it for a moment. In business our creative medium is fluid, dynamic and ever-changing: from idea generation to the marketing of our services, and of course, our interactions with people. Each element has it's own personality and takes on a life of it's own. For each of us to be successful, we have to find ways to put it all together. This is where our creativity kicks in.

Whatever You Want, You Can Have
Author: MSI (Maharishi Sadashiva Isham)

When you are aligned with the invincible forces of Natural Law, desired goals materialize extremely quickly. But if you have contradictory desire streams - desires for two opposing things at the same time - it becomes much more difficult for Nature to fulfill your desires.

What is the matrix?
Author: Larry A. Cochran

I have begun to delve into the controversial thought of an existing matrix in our day and time. I have reason to believe that there is such an existence of this folkloric type of ideal. Not to be confused with the type of matrix the director of the movie conceived when he made the title, but there is a compared realism to the truth behind the movie. There is a matrix, but it is not a physical matrix that engulfs society while machines plot to take control of man; however, we have to realize that most of the ideals behind the concepts of the movie were real.

Turning Your Passion Into Profit: A Spiritual Journey
Author: Walt F.J. Goodridge

As I sit here reading book 3 of Conversations With God, by Neale Donald Walsch, I feel as if I'm reading a lecture in support of turning your passion into profit. Everything I've always believed about why everyone needs to follow our truth is beautifully expressed in the "dialogue" between God and Neale. And although they are discussing matters of spirituality, all the lessons are applicable to the passion to profit journey. That's because truth is universal. It's why I've always felt that this direction I've taken in my life was not a business decision, but actually a spiritual one. It was not a decision to become rich financially, but to experience the abundance that is already mine to share. Your desire to turn passion into profit comes from a basic and fundamental need to be who you are. Your decision to turn your passion into profit is ultimately a spiritual decision. The actual deed of turning your passion into profit is, at it's core, a creative act. Creativity is, at i! t's foundation, an act of becom

The future successes are in the realm of creativity
Author: Jesse S. Somer

For a long time now business, commerce and law have been the main areas of study for students who wish to become successful in our modern materialistic society. Places like Harvard Business School were where so-called elite elements of human intelligence hoped to be trained so that they could then reach the highest ranks of status and wealth. Well, things are changing. This is because these people are now being outsourced. Presently, companies can get the same jobs done by people from India and Asia for one fifteenth of what it costs to rent an overpriced white collar American or European. The future no longer lies in these areas of financial process. The future successes now lie in ideas. The poor, starving, struggling artists are the kingpins of tomorrow. Creativity is now being seen as the desired quality for positive growth in any and every industry in our world.

Conventional wisdom is short and snappy. It provides a simple answer that seems to address a complex situation. Social commentator H. L. Recharge Your Creative Energy
Author: Jon Gordon

Where are you when you get your best ideas? This was a question posed by Michael Gelb, author of "How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci". Most people say the shower, bed, garden, the walking path or treadmill. Hardly anyone says great ideas come at work. In fact Robert Frost once joked "The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and doesn't stop until you get to work". While it may not be that bad, from our own experiences we know that at work we feel more stress, pressure and frustration. We often try to fight through fatigue, hunger, and deadlines to get the job done. We push harder, work longer and challenge ourselves every day. But unfortunately the harder we fight the less our energy flows.

Massage Your Mind!: Are You Living In A Cave?
Author: Maya Talisman Frost

When I was three years old, I had an experience I’ll never forget. My mother had just prepared lunch for my brother and me, and a neighbor lady came running over, breathless, telling my mother some news. Mom went right to the television and turned it on. This was unusual-she rarely watched TV. She set up the ironing board in the living room(!) so that she could iron while watching. Stranger still, she seemed to have forgotten all about naptime. My brother and I sat on the couch quietly, hoping that if we didn’t draw attention to ourselves she wouldn’t put us to bed. We needn’t have worried-Mom was completely caught up in what was on the television.

Making Homemade Items For Fun
Author: Alan Detwiler

I've always liked to make gadgets and gizmos that fill some need but at the same time are not practical enough to be thought of as necessities. It started with the simple things that many kids make - slingshots, a simple bow and arrow, a toy boat. Occasionally I made more involved items such as a canoe and a dune buggy. Then there was the grass hut - 12 feet across, octogonal in shape, and thatched top to bottom with a thick layer of grass.

Is Art Abstract or Representational?
Author: Curt Doll

Rembrandt van Rijn began his career painting very realistic and polished portraits and landscapes. By the end of his career, having satisfied his need to show the world his masterly technique and draftsmanship, he began to paint what was in his heart. His last works are quite literally splashes and daubs of paint. While they still maintain a representational quality, they are abstract in nature.

Gratitude: The Secret Behind Creativity
Author: Nancy Marmolejo

When you think of being more creative, what comes to mind? Most people think in terms of artistic skills, but creativity manifests itself in a number of ways beyond the obvious. Picture creativity like a jet stream that flows all around us: when we step up to the flow and dip our hands in, we easily grab wonderful ideas, refreshed insights and innovative actions. At times, things get in our way and we lose our contact with the creative flow. We consider ourselves in a rut, not creative, unproductive, dull. There is a simple practice that magically ignites the creative juices and brings joy to all parts of life. It takes practice, commitment, and an open mind.

In the aftermath of September 11th, many people claim we face a new world. Yet what I see is not a new world, but a need to become aware of what the world has become. The nineteenth century brought the Industrial Revolution, which changed the way we did things. The twentieth century introduced not just change in how we do things, but change in the rate of change.

Perhaps you mentioned your aspirations to someone and were met with laughter or the assurance that there was no money in it. You swallowed your creative dreams and satisfied yourself with listening to music on the radio, to reading books or watching movies. How often have our creative selves been swept to the sidelines, to being the observer? We internalize the belief that we don’t have what it takes to make it big, and of course we don’t because we have hardly tried.

Creativity and Inspiration
Author: Edwin Harkness Spina

Creativity for the mystic has special meaning. In the world of the mystic all is one. This means that there’s only one Creator. Your job as an artist, painter or writer is simply to attune with this One source of all creation, listen and report on what you’re told. This is the essence of divine inspiration. It’s similar to the advice I was given as a young businessman when my boss and I were on our way to an important meeting. He turned to me and said, "Keep your mouth shut and listen good."

Creativity
Author: Jennifer Louden

Did you know the critical part of your self is never going away? In fact, to want to kill the critic off is just playing into the Critic's game because it is wanting to kill off a part of yourself. Creativity
Author: Ariel and Shya Kane

Human beings by nature are creative. We have however, recorded everything that has happened in our past and linked it to our creative process, leading us to erroneously form the point of view that the creative process itself is a function of our struggling, our painful past or our "neurosis". And if we were to lose that neurosis, our mind thinks that our artistic abilities would be lost as well.

She did that day and did save money, quite a bit. Are you Creative?
Author: Amyn Lalji

What makes a person Great? Is it really something that is in one's genes or is it something that one achieves over a period by going through ups and downs of life. Many people agree that great individuals whether they have the genes of greatness embedded in their DNA or they nurture it, all of them have one thing in common, their ability to look at things and situations differently. To look at something differently is what we call in a layman's language as Creativity. Creativity is nothing but looking at situations and things from a totally different perspective. Unlike greatness, it is something that can be mastered by anyone, provided one knows how it really works.
