Where art thou my Romeo?

The idea of "TRUE LOVE" is by nature romantic. Everybody hoped, dreamed, desired and aspired for it to happen in their life. Some have been so lucky to find it earlier in life, others are struggling to keep it, and the rest are still in their relentless quest to find MR. RIGHT.
Our definition of perfect love, are oftentimes aproduct of the mushy love stuff we have seen in movies. Boy meets girl, girl meets boy. They stared into each other’s eyes, then…. KA-BLAM! Cupid did it again! He shot his arrow at this couple and this couple is bound to live happily ever after. This scenario usually makes us "ooohhh" and "ahhhhh" in our seats when we get to see a mushy film. As we simultaneously wishes for HIM to arrive, we try to capture the scene and memorize every line in our head(and in our heart?), hoping that one day, we can get to use it. Whatever the case, whatever the scenario, we understand the pursuit for romantic love. Fiction or based on a true-story...we can relate.
And why wouldn’t we? In one point of our lives, we have seen ourselves in their search to happiness. Believing that things will happen and fall into places in the right time and in the right place. We wait for signs, and wonder "Have we missed the sign already by being so busy looking for it?" Perhaps yes, perhaps no. But this is the fact. Love happens when we decided for them to happen. It grows, when we wanted it to grow. Love graces our lives when we finally open ourselves and welcome it. It’s not a bad thing to listen to fate or sign or even believe in destiny. It’s one thing that you believe in destiny and do something to help destiny find your match. It’s another story to believe in destiny and just wait for destiny to work its miracle. Mr. Right will not just land on your lap when the right time comes, you must also know how to catch.
Of course, there is always a right time for everything. If this is the case, what should we do? Instead of wasting our time whining and complaining why our own version of Romeo hasn’t come yet, we should take this time to help ourselves to become all that we are looking for. Sometimes, the reason why love hasn’t come our way is that there is not enough love for us to begin with. We put our focus to what’s lacking that we tend to forget ourselves. We tend to fuzz about what is missing instead of shaping up what we already have.
Love is about loving ourselves first and propagating that love toward others once it bloomed inside us. Love is about sharing and giving. What is to give if we don’t have anything?
So, in closing, for all singles out there who are still in your relentless hunt in finding MR. RIGHT, don’t despair. Sooner or later, he’ll get tired and find a resting place eventually. Trust me, my MR.RIGHT got tired and found a resting place in my arms.
