Simplify Everything: Make room for what is to come?
Author: Diane Mandle
When we think of simplifying our lives, we often think of getting rid of “stuff? Time to empty the closets, make a trip to Goodwill and maybe re-arranging our schedules. This is one level of simplifying and it’s great because whatever we do in our external world is a reflection of a shift on the internal level. As we make changes in our schedules, and environment we impact the unconscious- and this is a good thing. The good news is that we can be even more effective by bringing more awareness and consciousness to the changes we make in our lives: A pivotal issue is one, which when resolved impacts several other issues. When we consciously address and simplify our attitudes, beliefs and behaviors then our external circumstances will change accordingly---- and with very little effort! Take a moment to write down 3 areas of frustration in your life. Write them in just a few words. For each issue write 3 attitudes, beliefs or behaviors you could either adopt or get rid of that would have a positive impact on your issue. If you can’t think of anything, then make something up just for fun. Imagine how you would feel if you actually made those shifts?. You have just started to get rid of some inner clutter and made room for possibility. If you decide to act upon your new options, then you are stepping into a powerful process of self-change. This process is one small example of simplifying your life from the inside out. What other internal or external changes can you make in the next 30 days that will simplify your life. Make a short list so that you set your self up for success. Now just give that list some attention and delight in what happens.
