MY GOD I'VE GOT CANCER

The most devastating words you can hear from your doctor are “You’ve got cancer.” I am not a doctor so why should you listen to me? I lost my father to cancer. I lost my brother to cancer. My son had cancer when he was 5. Nearly every person in my father’s family has had cancer.

Don’t feel sorry for me. I may never get cancer and if I do, I’ve learned more about the disease firsthand than I’d want anyone to know. I’m writing this letter because I remember being told that my son had a 2% chance of surviving and the feeling that my whole world had just ended.

He’s now 26 years old and had a childhood earning enough athletic awards to make any father swell with pride. I wanted to share with you what I learned from reading 20+ books on cancer, talking to my son’s doctors constantly, administering his chemotherapy treatments personally at my home, and watching his progress until he was CURED!

CANCER is a collection of cells in the body that no longer grow to maturity. They grow for a while, then split (normal cell reproduction) and create 2 cells both identically deformed to reproduce before maturity. Sounds simple, but immature cells don’t do what they were intended to do. Immature white blood cells don’t fight disease. Immature red blood cells don’t carry oxygen around the body. Get the idea? THEY TAKE UP SPACE AND THEY’RE REPRODUCING FASTER THAN NORMAL CELLS THAT GROW TO MATURITY BEFORE SPLITTING.

They originally got deformed due to lack of oxygen or lack of nutrients. This is why so many items are tested and especially in mass quantities can cause cancer. Imbalance of positive or negative ions in your body does not allow for nutrients to migrate throughout the body normally and get to the cells that need them. High fevers, chemical imbalance, weakened immune systems, and other external factors can allow cancer cells to form. After a few generations of cells splitting before being able to obtain maturity, their genetic makeup changes so they are no longer able to obtain maturity even with proper nutrients. They have truly become cancer cells.

Cancer cells are not attacked with the same enthusiasm as virus and other foreign substances, because the cancer cell is VERY similar to the healthy immature cells in the body. By the time a doctor can recognize that you have cancer in your system, your body is already losing the battle to control it. Drastic change is needed or the cancer will cause death.

TREATMENTS are numerous. If it’s me personally and an operation can get it all, that’s my first choice. Obviously if this is real radical (lose a breast, cut off my leg) I’ll discuss with my doctor first trying other treatment. If the doctor says it’s growing or spreading too fast, I trust him because he’s got a lot more experience than you or I.

If the operation would likely kill me because of where the cancer is located or is too radical for me right now, then radiation may be able to get to the cancer cells and hopefully not destroy too much of the surrounding cells. Radiation will kill all cells in the area so this may require bone-marrow transplants or some other procedure.

CHEMOTHERAPY is the most common and most dreaded treatment. So why do doctors prescribe it so much? Simple, the concept makes sense and works in a lot of cases. The concept is simple because cancer cells reproduce quicker than healthy cells, use drugs in the body to either stop the cells from reproducing or kill the cells right at the point they are reproducing. Guess what? Your hair cells grow pretty fast as do lip, mouth, and other places. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR HAIR AND GET SORES! What’s hard to grasp is that if you don’t lose your hair and get sores, then the treatment isn’t stopping the cells from reproducing. THE CANCER IS WINNING!!

The reason I’m writing this article is because I understood what was going to happen to my son. I was convinced that the chemo could and with God’s grace would kill the cancer. My job and goal as a parent was to let the chemo do its thing and still prevent the chemo from killing my boy. Doctors worry about you putting too many vitamins and things into the system WHILE the chemo 5 or 7 day course is being administered because the body will fight this poison that is killing it’s cells. If you help the body in this battle too much, you don’t lose your hair and you don’t get sores and THE CANCER WINS AND YOU DIE. Is that blunt enough.

But here’s the kicker. When the chemo has killed all the reproducing cells for the term of the course, the doctor backs off and hopes there are enough healthy cells left to bounce back. As soon as the body has rebuilt itself and is strong enough to withstand another chemo treatment, they need to repeat the process. This is done over and over again for months maybe years, each time killing more cancer cells than good cells until with God’s grace ALL the cancer is out of the body.

When my son was between a chemo treatments, I gave him bee pollen, some kind of seaweed stuff, vitamin C, IRON, and all the vegetables and fruit he wanted. It worked and several times doctors would tell us as they were monitoring his blood counts that he was bouncing back much quicker than expected and getting strong enough to survive another dose.

What is most frightening is about a week after chemo, his white blood cells would be so low that fighting any childhood disease would have been fatal. Now there are considerable new medical breakthroughs (my son was diagnosed in 1981).
