We talk so often about finding our passion, our why. I have spent months examining what I thought my passion in life was, my why - all my life I have felt so guilty for "wanting" anything - I have always put the wantsand needs of others first and when I fulfilled their wants and needs, I , in turn thought I felt fulfilled. You can see where that led! All my Passions and my whys revolved around my husband, my mother, my son, my stepchildren, my boss, my co-workers. I never allowed my passions to really revolve around my innermost desires. That was just too selfish, it just felt wrong, or so my programming went. I realized I had such a hard time finding my why, my passion, because my mother was such a martyr, and passed that along to me. I never learned how to communicate what I wanted. I was programmed to suppress those wants and needs and desires.
A few days ago, I got so ANGRY when I realized that all my life, I have let these people steal my why, my passion - I got so angry that I realized in finding my passion, my love, my desire, I had to discover what really caused me so much anger. I realized that in getting in touch with the anger inside of me, really really allowing myself to feel it, to express it, I was that much closer to allowing myself to discover my true passion, my why.
In a universe of polarities, of positive, of negative, the answer was right there in front of me! The things I was angriest about were also the things I was most passionate about. Sometimes it is just so good to be alone, to be really alone, without any other outside influences, to quiet our minds or to allow ourselves to listen to the screaming voice inside of our minds. Our souls know what we want and our souls are connected to the entire fabric of the universe. Stop listening to everyone else and really, really listen to your self, the self is a precious gift and careful tending of that self is the only way to achieve an inner calm and ultimately the answer to the question, What is my Why? What is my ultimate purpose?
