In a society where selfishness runs rampant, it's refreshing to witness individuals working together as a unit to assist in each other's dreams, goals and aspirations. Arguably, one of the best examples of this process is Networking. Networking is a powerful strategy often used in the professional world. However, many organizations utilize networking to win as a team. When properly implemented, everyone benefits in each area of their respective lives. When we labor together, we discover that our strengths encourage others; and our weakness is augmented into excellence. This is the essence of every great, collaborative endeavor.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson consistently dazzled fans, opponents and even his team mates with his legendary skills for over thirteen years. In doing so, he led the “Showtime” Los Angeles Lakers, to five NBA titles. I'm an avid Laker's fan and have been for over 30 years. I know Magic had at least a couple thousand "spectacular shots" during his career. Yet, I can only recall one. What I recall most about Johnson was his audacious ability to pass. He had the talent to locate, initiate, communicate and facilitate just as all great networkers do. He brought out the greatness in "average" players and incited a renewed spark of life in his elder: Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Few would argue that Earvin "Magic" Johnson was one of the greatest basketball players the world has ever seen. However, his one weakness was what 96% of the professionals in his field regularly and brilliantly executed.

"Magic" Johnson was a three-time MVP recipient ... with an "all-time" sub par jump shot.
