Torah for Gentiles

The Jews have returned to their land to conquer it and settle it. The step that follows is to rebuild the Temple and restore the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem and with it, usher in the millenium of peace called the days of the reign of the Messiah. This is Gd’s plan in History as announced to us by our true prophets. No nation and no man can prevent it.

This will come to be, either through devastating and cruel wars which moreover are useless, because the “or?is through the good will of good men and good nations who will side by Israel and the Gd of Israel. In the same way as Yehoshua publicized the Law of the Land in seventy languages when he entered it, so too, today’s communications and international forums provide a basis for the publicizing of the requirements of the Torah upon non-Jews, challenged to become Righteous Gentiles according to the will of Gd.

We are not begging for support of the Gentiles because we are weak or afraid to fight. And we are not stretching a hand to the Gentile world because we plead for recognition and love. Neither are we selling Yiddishkeit, nor denying that we are a separate, holy, people. What we are saying is that since the Torah also concerns the Gentiles (because it was dictated by the One who created the world and all that is in it), they too must know they have a share in the divine project, and he who will run to fulfill the purpose for which he was created is promised, apart from worldly benefits and advantages, a place in the World to Come - this is not a mortal’s “electoral?promise, but a divine promise to be taken exactly for what it is.

Human rights and human dignity, and all the tenets of universal humanism and world peace are not feasible and cannot lead to lasting success if they are not put to the service of Gd’s will, the way He willed it. But the fact such tenets are defined and defended by international institutions naturally leads to the necessity of putting these achievements to the service of Gd, rather than making them serve the interests of men and thereby forfeit their proclaimed intent and purpose. All these points will be developed and the steps to achieve the goal here defined will be detailed in the study program we designed on the Internet Website “Torah for Gentiles?we are launching on Sunday, the 27th of August 2000. Indeed, we feel that if there is such a wonderful technology, it must be used in the honor and praise of Gd, who gave man the intelligence to achieve such works.

Parallel to our Website, we will be opening in Jerusalem the Evelyn Torah Center for Gentiles. Jerusalem would not be regarded as the spiritual center of all nations if it were not the place Gd chose for His abode on earth. And He entrusted His city to His people Israel, a holy nation of priests and kings, as it is said: “You have nothing to do with us in building a house to our Gd; we ourselves alone will build, as King Cyrus the king of Persia commanded us?(Ezra 4:3), and also: “You have no portion or right or memorial in Jerusalem?(Nechemia (2:20). Indeed, only such a limitation guarantees that Jerusalem will be an international center and place of worship for all the nations of the world ?when none of them will be able to claim any share of his own in it Of course, this project cannot come about easily. We know there are many men and many peoples who will be intent in thwarting the divine project. We do not deny that we will have to fight opposition. Like Yehoshua, we offer peace, but we are prepared for war.

What we are offering is a center where good men of the world will be informed of their Torah obligations, in order to enable them to chose knowingly between serving the policies of kings and ministers and utopians who demagogically lead their flocks astray, or serve themselves and the only viable policy for each man and all mankind.
