Volunteering for five years deep within prison walls as a lay counselor to inmates looking to turn their lives around. Searching for abandoned homeless people in dark alleys of the inner city to provide a warm meal. Each and every month, we take our Motivational Magic program out to perform free of charge to residents at facilities such as homeless shelters, nursing homes, prisons, youth centers and locations such as these. We charge no fee for these programs to such facilities because Richard is a firm believer in the power of investing in others. When you invest in others, you will see that Life will in turn invest in you. It is a powerful dynamic that you can bank on. You will see opportunities come your way that were so impossible just months before.

When we go to these people, our goal is to simply create a spark of hope. We teach these hurting people that you can start today. We show them how to become an encourager at their facility. How to find the strengths in others. How to instill confidence in themselves. How to have vision. We encourage them to take just ten minutes a day and use their imagination to visualize the kind of life they would like to lead. Some of the people we work with in these facilities are truly a population that believe they have absolutely no hope. They feel they have nothing whatsoever to live for. The have grown accustomed to the mindset that life has passed them by, and their daily existence has dwindled down to little more than becoming an endless series of trials to endure and hurdles to jump over.

We look for ways of triggering a breakthrough. Methods for chipping away at that mindset. Tools that give them a glimmer of hope and a renewed sense that Life can still have a special plan for them. Perhaps even a plan incorporates their many battle scars and harsh experiences and gives them such greater capacity to in turn reach out and minister to the hearts of others.

There is no greater fulfillment than being used by the Life to help others become free of their self imposed prisons. An even greater delight to witness them become transformed and then to go out and strengthen and encourage the hearts of others who are in pain.

Part of our skill in reaching this population is that Richard was homeless for several months back in 1990. He lived on the streets and barely scraped by. He slept on the beach, in boiler rooms, in cars. He lived every day of his existence in deep fear and despair. Richard promised that if Life were to lift him out of that hellish existence, that he  would dedicate the rest of his life to helping others. Amazingly, eight years later, he secured a position at a Manhattan financial firm and was soon earning more than $100,000 per year running a technology department that they allowed him to create from scratch! Now that is a dynamic transformation, wouldn't you agree? Richard will shares the strategies that trigger such powerful change in the lives of people.
