It Takes More than Meals to Feed Your Body
Author: Bob Doyle

Do you take a multivitamin?

If you do, do you actually FEEL it working? Does it have a real effect on your energy level or the way your body operates? If you don't feel it, how do you KNOW that you're getting your money's worth?

If you don't take a multivitamin, it's probably because you've taken them in the past an NOT felt any real difference. And for most people, they want to FEEL something as a result of taking a supplement, whether it's to burn fat, gain muscle, improve mood, or just WHATEVER. If you don't feel it, you generally feel you can live without it. It's easy to "forget" to take a multivitamin if it doesn't have an impact on your day.

There are some pretty good reasons you probably don't "feel" your multivitamin's effect.

Most pill/tablet multivitamins are made from synthetic vitamins which the body has a harder time assimilating. Further, pills and tablets generally have a 2-20% absorption rate. For every hundred dollars you spend on your vitamin tablets, of it is going down the toilet - literally.

The vitamin pills and tablets you take contain percentages of a "recommended daily allowance" of vitamins and minerals with no regard to the actual BALANCE of these nutrients that your body requires for peak efficiency. So what if you've got 100% of the RDA of a vitamin? If it isn't being assimilated into your body through the proper synergy with other nutrients which are ALSO in the proper balance, what benefit are you actually deriving. In some cases, absolutely NONE.

Vitamins pills and tablets simply don't contain everything you need. Your body requires vitamins and minerals, but also requires trace elements, amino acids, and more. And speaking of amino acids, your body needs ALL of them...not just some of them...to derive the full benefit they provide. When you're working to build a lean and strong physique these amino acids are imperative. You can spend a lot of money on various supplements to try and get all of the amino acids in the proper balance...let alone all the other nutrients your body needs. And a lot of people DO spend a lot of money for bottles and bottles of pills, and STILL don't feel the effects because of the issue of proper balance.

I learned of the benefits of what I call "mega-multivitamins" several years ago. These are products that DO address the issue of balance. When I regularly took these supplements I actually FELT - for the first time - the benefits of a well-researched multivitamin. For one reason or another, I eventually stopped taking those that supplement. Since that time, I have been looking for something similar that was more affordable and finally found it with a product called SeaSilver (http://www.boundlessliving.com/vitamins.php), as it meets all the requirements for an excellent whole food vitamin supplement. There are others, of course.

Regardless of what product you choose, I would submit that a good complete multivitamin like I describe is one of the most important supplements you can add to your regimen, for many reasons.

Consider this: You body totally regenerates its cells every 90 days. What decides what's going INTO that regeneration? It's the quality of what you're putting into your body...oxygen, food, and supplements. If you're not giving your body everything it is designed to use for optimum efficiency, do you suppose your body will magically create it? Hint: It won't. Just think about a what a 90-day investment in total nutrition and the healthiest possible regeneration of cells could do for you ability to fight illness, sustain energy, recover from workouts, and on an on.

There are conflicting views on this, but I DO buy into the idea that foods just don't have the nutritional value they had even 50 years ago, and there are numerous studies that support this concept. Supplementation is necessary. It's an opinion that is shared by many, and I'm one of them. Of course, you're free to buy into that or not.

Giving your body complete whole-food nutrition with all the nutrients you need provides the ENERGY people so lack in today's society. A quality energy level helps virtually every aspect of your life: your mood, your exercise ability, and even quality sleep which is SO important. Sleep patterns can be annihilated by a diet that consists of caffeine to provide "energy".

As I mentioned above, your mood will improve drastically. Our bodies are this incredibly integrated system. Your brain - just like the rest of your body - is fed by the nutrients you put into your body. If you are deficient in key nutrients, your brain function suffers as well. That's why people who take these quality supplements report great results with depression and conditions like ADD and ADHD. I could go on and on about this. However, I invite you to take on your own research. It's worth it.

If you're reading this article, you're clearly interested in what is best for you and the well-being of your physical body. You're hopefully engaged in physical exercise and doing the best you can with eating well-balanced meals. Now round this all out with a quality multivitamin. I urge you to consider something in a liquid form, with proven results and solid research behind it. Don't just take someone's word for it (including mine). Find out for yourself.
