Realize Your Potential

Thinking as an intelligent, educated and a professional in your field is it possible that you may not be fully realizing your potential?

If you stop to take a close look at yourself you’ll discover that there are three levels to your potential.

1) Your Exhibited Potential. You can relate to this by taking a look at the results you are or are not producing in your finances, career, business, relationships and life right now!

For example, right now, with respect to your monthly finances you get a certain monetary value as your earnings and come the end of the month you have a certain monetary value left after expenses. That monetary value at the start and end of the month is what I mean by an irrefutable result. The money you make is directly correlated to the value you add at work and is also directly related to your exhibited potential.

Also, right now you are experiencing a certain quality of life. While this may not be readily quantifiable in monetary terms we can definitely quantify it by our own happiness, peace and fulfillment levels or the lack of them. This too is a result, although an esoteric one that arguably has a more significant impact than the financial example I gave earlier.

When it comes to Exhibited Potential there is really no point in being in denial as we only end up fooling ourselves. The best thing to do once you’re aware of your Exhibited Potential is to accept and acknowledge the truth through the results you are getting or not getting and do something about it. If you are the CEO or MD of an organization getting an executive coach would help tremendously to up your Exhibited Potential. Alternatively you can choose to attend a seminar, workshop or course that will assist you to achieve greater results.

2) Your Believed Potential. You can relate to this by what you think you are capable of doing but do not seem to be able to do in reality for one reason or another.

Let’s take a look at an example with respect to your relationships at work and home. While you realize that your relationships could be far better off and you do believe you have the potential to forge healthier, more profitable and fulfilling relationships there may seem to be an insurmountable barrier between what you believe and what you are actually exhibiting. Do you truly have any idea what is accounting for this barrier and what it will take to bridge this gap? Most people don’t and will end up like the proverbial dog chasing its tail in an attempt to figure it out.

Here is another example to further highlight this point for you.

You are probably aware that if you really played to your Believed Potential you would have the capacity to leap-frog your career and business to whole new heights that you are presently not experiencing. Yet like most working professionals for some reason you simply do not seem to be able to do so. The truth is that often times our Believed Potential has hardly any effect on our existing results.

As a leading professional in my field I get an opportunity to meet and coach a host of people from all walks of life from multimillionaire business owners to junior executives, from professionals to students and from junior executives to fresh graduates and I’ll be the first to acknowledge the truth that there is nothing wrong with believing you have far more potential that you are presently exhibiting. As a matter of fact it is healthy to believe so. But the type of belief most people fall into, as I often observe is truly deadly and that is because while most people believe they have the potential and will literally swear they are doing something about it on their own, only for years pass by before realizing what they were doing did not work and was not what it really took.

When it comes to the life of a human being there is no turning back the clock. All we are left with when it comes to unrealized potential are regrets and missed opportunities. Take a look around you and you too will see that Believed Potential if not realized in a timely manner leads to regret, resignation and resentment in our latter years often times disguised as apathy.

3) Your True Potential. This is something that is incredibly difficult to relate to and you may not be able to see it in yourself at all.

However as you are reading this, if you are willing to sit still in silence and go deep within your heart you might get a sense of the true potential you have and what you really can accomplish. This sense is distinct from what you believe and definitely different from what you exhibit. This sense can best be described as a sense of knowing. Just simply knowing what you can accomplish as a first hand experience.

If by any chance you are getting a glimpse of it now or have gotten a glimpse of your True Potential before that’s fantastic because it is only through a deep moment of insight that one can come to recognize and subsequently live their True Potential.

For those who have realized their True Potential they will be able to tell you that it is like an atom bomb exploding from deep within you. When you realize your True Potential you’ll get a profound sense of personal power and potency that realigns and reignites your finances, career, business, relationships and life. It generates responsibility, commitment and the beingness of winning.

So as you can clearly tell, realizing your True Potential is not just about having a glimpse of it. It is about you being able to harness, channel and apply it optimally towards your success, power and mastery in your business, relationships and life for all to win. Doing so will allow you to live according to your true values, unleash your passion from with, clarify your vision and mission, enable you to generate higher levels of profit and bring to surface your latent talents.

So as we come to this inspiring and action-inducing article please ask yourself which level of your potential are you operating from?

At your Exhibited, Believed or True Potential?

That’s just one question worthwhile asking. The other far more important question to ask is where do you need, want or desire to operate from?

Is it just from your Exhibited or Believed Potential or are you willing to step up to your True Potential and have anything you need, want and desire in your finances, career, business, relationships and life?
