You're rooting through your closet for that perfect thing to wear. Maybe this, maybe that - no, not THAT! Your eye lights on a brand new pair of jeans - that you'd completely forgotten about. Perfect! Then you remember why they were bought and then forgotten. You purchased them when you were on your last diet as an incentive, a motivation. Which didn't work. Which of course means that they won't fit now.

The big yellow school bus is coming down my road again. The neighborhood kids seem happy. The dogs are not. The kids are no longer around during the day and Jersey is going to drop a little weight without all the treats they have been bringing her this summer. I must admit that when I see the bus, I feel sorry for those poor suckers. And I express my gratitude that I'm no longer going back to school this time of year.

Your Big Life Plan
Author: Jon Gordon, The Energy Addict

It’s big but you can’t see it. So great that if you could see it you wouldn’t believe it. It’s your destiny and it’s calling you. If you don’t believe me just remember Albert Einstein. He could not speak until he was four years old. He did not read until he was 7. His parents thought he was retarded. We know they were wrong. Or how about Beethoven. His music teacher said, "As a composer he is hopeless." Wrong again. And let’s not forget Muhammad Ali. His teacher once told him, “you ain’t never going to be nothing. He showed her and the world that he was the greatest after all. We all know Helen Keller’s story and we certainly all know our own story. Every day we face challenges, fears, obstacles, and negativity that hits us with left jabs and right hooks. We get so caught up in the details of bills, job pressures, raising kids, fixing the house, car payments, trying to make a living and a hundred other to-dos, that we can’t even see over the piles of paper on our desk never mind-our future success. But when t

You Are Not A Failure!
Author: Calvin J. Moss

What is failure? Failure is a lack of success, an unsuccessful person or thing. In other words, failure is quitting before receiving the promise. As children of God, we must understand that with God all things are possible. The victory is already won. We triumph in all things in Christ Jesus! There are no reasons for failures just excuses. The Bible says in Proverbs 24:10 “If thou faint in the day of adversity thy strength is small”. God the father created us with abilities to succeed. One of them is the blood of Jesus and the other is the Holy Ghost. It is our responsibility to operate with in them. Jesus said: “the Kingdom of God is within you”.

Yes, You Can Say No
Author: Coach Rachelle Disbennett-Lee, MS, PCC, CTC

It is perfectly OK to say, "No." You have permission. Many people do not like to disappoint others by saying, "No." They will tend to acquiesce even when overloaded. Sometimes those with the need to please will agree to do something when it is not in their best interest just to be accommodating. Saying yes when we want or need to say no is a way to put others first. Indeed we don't want to hurt others' feelings, however we hurt our own when we overload ourselves and say yes to task that we don't want to or don't have time to do.

Words Are Not Neutral. Are We the Victims?
Author: Odete Martins Bigote

The English novelist, Rudyard Kipling, once said that "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind." Indeed, words can make you cry, can make you laugh, and can kill you. Why? Because of the "images" that they leave in our minds. Although most of us may not realize what is happening, such images have consequences sooner or later. Words may change from time to time, from culture to culture, from continent to continent, but something stays in our minds: the effect. Can we become the victims?

Within You Lies All You Need
Author: Ubong Essien

Within is the person we really are. Within lies our very existence. And only from within can we make it happen. This is where our very all subsists. Within you is the ability, the “what it takes” to make it all happen for you, just the way you want it. WITHIN! WITHIN!! WITHIN!!! Oh what a place! This is the only place that will ever always and fully be yours. The only domain where you are king indeed. Not even the future or the past holds a stake high enough to be compared to that within you. The renowned jurist, Oliver Wendell Homes couldn’t have said it better when he remarked, “What lies ahead of us and what lies behind us are nothing compared to what LIES WITHIN US”. The past haven gone and the future waiting beyond, you are left with but one great option - That which is within you. Your very bird in hand. I want you to realize that your best bet is in all that you are potentially endowed with within, though it may not appear, as it ought to be at present.

Wiggle Room
Author: Deborah Martin

I was paddling a new river a couple of weekends ago and came up behind a beaver. He didn't know I was there. I spoke up, trying to give him fair warning, but by the time I saw him, I was on top of the poor fellow. We were both pretty surprised. As we went down river together at about the same speed, I could hear and feel, th-thump, th-thump, th-thump, on the bottom of my canoe as he tried to maneuver his way out of the dilemma of only 8 inches of water between the bottom of my canoe and the bottom of the river. After a long 45 seconds, we finally reached deeper water. My paddling partner said, “That poor guy just ain’t got no wiggle room.”

Author: Michelle L. Casto

Money Magazine said that “A coach may be the guardian angel you need to rev up your career.” In fact, if you pick up any major newspaper or magazine, you are bound to come across a glowing article on coaching. It is one of the fastest growing careers, with an estimated 100,000 coaches in the United States. Because coaching is a relatively new profession, there are many people calling themselves “coaches”---unfortunately not all of whom are fully qualified. You should know that there is no required professional certification process, although it is coming in the near future.

What is Hypnosis
Author: Carol Denicker

Hypnosis is a natural, psychological state experienced as trance. Hypnosis may be induced through the interaction of one individual speaking to another, or to an entire group as in (group hypnosis). We can also learn to self-induce trance as in (self-hypnosis). A trance is a natural state occurring whenever attention is narrowly focused and relatively free of distractions. Your attention may be focused either internally (on daydreaming or self-talk, meditation, etc.) or externally (on a task, reading, a movie, engaged in an art form, intently listening to a speaker, etc.). Attention is narrowly focused so that other environmental stimuli are ignored or blocked out of conscious awareness for a period of time.

What is Healthy Support?
Author: Maria Marsala

For many giving another human being the support they require is not an easy thing. It means letting down our own judgment and wishes for that person - and REALLY supporting and encouraging them -- even if giving that support means that they move 3000 miles away. It's also about inner support and learning how to support ourselves. It's about watching the messages of the universe for their support and about not giving up on you! And oh... it's about walking over and under and through lots of mountains and pastures too.

What does SUCCESS look like to you?
Author: Sheraun Britton-Parris

So many of us want success, but how many of us really know what we mean when we say it? And please….. don’t blurt out some superficial “bling and glam” definition like VH1 defines it on “The Fabulous Life of ……” The expensive cars, the safe full of jewelry and the massive homes on every continent are only fruits of success, not success itself. Rather, Success is the realization and accomplishment of worthy goals. They are those purpose driven milestones that we set in our lives based on our values, beliefs and ambitions. You know them when you see them because they bring a sense of fulfillment and peace of mind when actively pursued. On the flip side, however, they increase our level of anxiety and frustration when we let fear and complacency stop us from pursuing them. You should know that feelings of fear are part of the process, but you need to acknowledge that fear and move through it because I guarantee you that if you don’t take time to set and actively pursue (purpose driven) goals, you will most certa

Use Your Unique Abilities to Shake The World
Author: Wendy Hearn

I awoke to the feeling of being shook and felt scared because I didn't know what was happening. It later transpired that we had experienced an earthquake. As I reflected on this occurrence and my feelings at the time, for me, it was a metaphor for shaking up our lives. What do I mean by shaking up our lives? I mean taking the opportunity to really go for our dreams or to take that leap of faith, that step that feels huge. Unemployment Blues: Take Back Control!
Author: Virginia Bola, PsyD

One of the most emotionally crippling aspects of unemployment is the sense of powerlessness it engenders. Job layoff triggers financial pressures, emotional distress, family turmoil, and dashed career hopes. We feel that we have no control over our situation, our lives, our future.

Try to think of absolutely nothing, for this is the secret of success.
Author: Ron G Holland

The formula you need for all the wealth, success and achievement, and peace of mind, indeed for all the answers to all your problems, and I mean all, is S.S.S. SILENCE, STILLNESS AND SOLITUDE. This is no invention of my own, and research into psychology and studies of world leaders, scientists, musicians, physicists, industrialists, inventors and other famous people proves this great power has been used, unwittingly or intentionally, since the beginning of time. All human success and achievement stems from this one power. It was used by Mozart, Einstein, Carnegie, Shakespeare, Emerson and Edison, to mention a few. This is the power used by the fakirs and mystics of the East and the fire walkers of the Fiji Islands. It allows the fire walkers to walk barefooted across red hot coals without feeling any pain. The secret lies in meditation, in Silence, Stillness and Solitude.

The Subconscious Mind: A Tool For Success
Author: Muneeza Khimji

As a Coach and Psychotherapist I have found that the world seems to have lost its way in terms of values. Most individuals are looking for more meaning in their lives, as are businesses looking to capture the spirit of what they do. I found the movie “ What The Bleep Do We Know?” refreshingly inspiring and in many ways descriptive of my view of the world. Quantum theory and the profound effects it has on the way we view the world, our world, and therefore the way we create it is an amazing way of saying, “hey you are accountable and you got to where you are because you created it!”

THE SNEEZY-COUGHING-ACHY BLUES
Author: Dr. Noelle Nelson

It’s a bright sunny day. Well, it’s a sunny day. It started out bright, but now as you sneeze, cough and ache your way increasingly through the hours, the day is getting duller and duller. You make it through your work and drag yourself home. “How ya feeling, Hon?” your devoted Significant Other asks. “Awful,” you reply, “It started with just a couple of sneezes and now I’m a total mess.” “Oh, it’s probably just allergies,” he replies. You shoot him a look; “I’m sure getting a lot of sympathy from you. I feel awful.” You cough a few times for emphasis. “Well you have a great constitution. You’ll be well in no time,” he says. You dig in your heels: “No it’s not. This is gonna get worse before it gets better, I can tell.” Why he doesn’t catch on is a mystery to you.

The Sleeper Awakens Within The Dream
Author: Dr. Asoka K. Selvarajah

When we awaken from dreams, we realize that they were not real, but entirely of our own creation. In a dream, you are the participant as well as the creator of all the other characters and the settings. In like manner, everyday reality can also be viewed from this dream perspective; a dream from which each of us will one day awaken to realize that this too was an illusion of earthly consciousness.

Author: Jan Stephen Maizler,LCSW

Achieving transformation and growth requires three critical steps: self-ownership, self-appraisal, and self-management (SOAM). The SOAM model is a cogent, practical working model of personal transformation that is dependent only on oneself. It is also that is easily taught to others. While griefwork transformation applies to times when loss forms the vehicle of change, the SOAM model of transformation can be utilized at any time in the life cycle.

The Avatar course, was written down by Harry Palmer, an educational psychologist, in 1986. He says it was created out of ‘perceived need' and that he wanted to give people tools to better handle the difficulties of life. The tools and techniques delivered in the course, he says, were IN consciousness and may have always been there, just waiting to be discovered. If it weren’t for all the people who have meditated, read about and explored consciousness, perhaps the tools would not have been discovered exactly when they were ?birthed from a floatation tank in the stillness of his own living room! Harry doesn't pretend to be the only person capable of discovering something like Avatar but we can thank everyone.

It isn't what happens to someone else, it's what happens and how it happens to you. And, no matter good, bad or indifferent, it's how you process the experience and use it to enrich your life. Life isn't about somewhere else, some other time or place or the what ifs. It's about now and how you make the most of this moment in time or, waste it. It's absorbing all there is around you, learning, growing, feeling all emotions. Not just the good ones. It's acknowledging your choices might not have been the best ones and knowing nothing or no one is stopping you from making new ones. No one other than yourself, that is. So often I hear the words "Life is flying by. Where did the time go?"

They also had an ending. The crop that had been planted was now being harvested. Then it would all begin again.

Author: Jon Gordon, The Energy Addict

I have a white cat named Frankie that thinks he's a dog. He walks around the block with me like a dog. He eats dog food. And when I clap my hands and say, "come on boy" he comes running. Amazingly when dogs come up to him he doesn't run away. And strangely enough dogs never chase him. While I see them chase other cats in the neighborhood they never chase my Frankie. I often study Frankie and his interactions with the neighborhood dogs. When they first meet Frankie, they always look confused. While the dog looks skittish and nervous, Frankie just sits their calmly looking at the dog saying "Why are you looking at me like I'm a cat? I'm not a cat. I'M A DOG, NOW TURN AROUND AND GO FIND A TREE." I believe the dogs are confused because they are seeing a cat but since Frankie is projecting the energy that he's a dog, they don't know what to make of him. After a few encounters with Frankie, the dogs don't seem nervous anymore. Frankie has made them believers and they simply treat him like a dog.

I have often heard Kundabuffer defined as an organ with special properties that has since been removed, but I have not heard of anyone investigating this ‘crystallization.?Since this crystallization is caused by our surrounding conditions during our preparation for responsible existence, it is in effect put into us mechanically; but it cannot be removed mechanically. I submit that it cannot be removed unless we determine exactly what it is, since for each of us the surrounding conditions were somewhat different.

Author: Charlene Rashkow

During this holiday season if you find yourself facing difficulties in regard to your business, or possibly struggling to meet financial obligations, perhaps the challenge is giving you an opportunity to develop emotional strength. While most individuals perceive success as something tangible, such as developing a business, overcoming a physical challenge or raising a healthy child, as you fully explore true success, at the heart of it is your level of emotional strength.

Being Psychic is as Natural as Breathing
Author: M.L. Danielle Daoust

I used to avoid saying what I do for a living because it can make people uncomfortable. They think I can see into their lives, what they had for breakfast that morning and what they’ll be doing tomorrow. I can, if I want to. But to look inside someone’s life without invitation is trespassing and I prefer not to break these universal principles. Besides, what value is there in filling my head with the intimate details of others?lives? I’ve got enough to think about, wondering what *I’m* going to be doing tomorrow...

Oh, The Power of Words!
Author: Noelle C. Nelson, Ph.D.

You step up to the ticket counter at the movie theater and say “One, please,” take your single ticket and sit your single self down in the darkened theater. You munch from your single-sized bucket of popcorn, sighing as you can’t help but notice all the loving couples all around you, cooing, holding hands. Heck, even the ones who are bickering look happy to you! You pop a single piece of popcorn into your mouth, and sigh your way through yet another movie where somebody else got the guy. . . not you. . .never you . . .sigh. . .

No Place like H.O.M.E.
Author: Liz Sumner

A few years ago I was having dinner at a Hollywood restaurant with several of my husband's childhood friends-- one of whom was a movie producer who owned the restaurant, and another was some big deal in the music industry. I gave meaning and importance to their glamorous titles. I decided that they were better than me because they had money and celebrity. In that rarefied air I felt oversized, underdressed, and at the same time puny and invisible.

NO MORE VICTIM: STAND UP FOR YOURSELF IN LIFE
Author: Shoshanna Katzman

How many times have you been victimized or witnessed it happening to someone else? No matter what the particular situation, someone is the victim while the other is the victimizer. This can develop into a mind-set called “victim consciousness” that can become a pervasive trap that is difficult to escape. It can result in a life filled with fear, anxiety and pain devoid of authentic love.

Moving Forwards Despite Fear
Author: Sarah Denholm

Recently, I’ve been working with some clients who, even though they have clear goals and want to move towards them, are held back by the fearful boundaries of their comfort zone as surely as if they had a rope tethering them to the ground. This is a very familiar feeling to me also, especially when I first started my own coaching business.

Mountain-Moving Momentum
Author: Fran Briggs

It can be challenging to think about going to the next level. Especially when you're completely overwhelmed by the thought of taking the next step. Are you catatonic? "Stuck on still"? Moving nowhere, fast? Perfect! You are in excellent position to generate what I call, "mountain-moving momentum." You see, mountain-moving momentum lets you start as you are. You may already know that momentum keeps you in motion long enough to do what you desire to do. Mountain-moving momentum is much more stronger than this. Mountain-moving momentum empowers you by keeping you in motion long enough to do what no one - including you - thought you could do. The fact is, it takes mountain-moving momentum to achieve goals such as incredible fat-loss, stupendous financial gain or presenting an ear-catching winning proposal. The more you have, regardless of the size of the goal, the more quickly the goal is achieved.

Money & Spirituality - Do They Mix?
Author: Dr. Asoka K. Selvarajah

Money causes most people more emotional problems than almost any other life issue. How many times have you heard that "Money doesn't grow on trees", that "Money is the root of all Evil" or that anyone who is rich must, by definition, be either a crook or extremely hard and tough? Most people have extremely negative associations about Wealth and Money that were gained subconsciously whilst growing up.

Making a change in your life - What it takes...
Author: Cecile Peterkin

Get honest and focused about what you really want. This will bring clarity to where it is best to put your time, energy, and resources. You must also face the fact that the biggest obstacle on your way to achieving success is you. Brian Tracy said,"The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean un-sailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilites waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good." His words are part of my belief system and the foundation of my coaching practice. This is why I enjoy seeing my clients having fun discovering things about themselves, doing things they love and fear, creating value for themselves and gaining control of their own life.

Your husband grips the remote with a mighty hand, surfing the channels relentlessly for something to pique his interest. You say “Oh, that looks interesting;” he says “Boring.” After half a dozen (failed) polite attempts you snap at him: “Well I’m getting dizzy from all the channel-surfing, could you just stick with something for a while?!” “Fine,” he grumps, settling on a science channel. You sigh. Oh great. Another night of watching animals tear each other apart. You huff your displeasure and retreat to the bedroom.

Living Your Dream Guilt Free
Author: P.A. Lastick

It is funny how sometimes we, as women, can be so supportive of our spouse’s and children’s dreams. Putting in the back burner our own desires with the notion that perhaps when our children leave the house or when our husbands reach their goals it will be time to devote all our energy pursuing our own dreams. Feeling the guilt of not being available 24/7 for those we love can be our worst enemy. And before we realize it there are a few gray hairs on our heads and time is slowly escaping us. I have a supportive husband who not only encourages me to follow my dreams, but who cheers me along the way. Why then is it so hard for me to pursue my dreams without feeling like I am abandoning my family in the process? Why do I feel like there are not enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do? I only have one child, a seven year old daughter named Vivian. I don’t want anymore children, despite the constant pleading from my in-laws, because if I feel pressed for time with one that feeling will surely be d

Lifelong Learning
Author: Vincent Martin Treacy

How precious is life? Many of us don’t appreciate our life until it is threatened. We are bombarded with advice about our physical condition often at the expense of our mental state. The World Health Organisation once defined ‘Health’ as a ‘complete state of physical and mental well-being’. If we are to be truly healthy then I firmly believe we owe ourselves a commitment to lifelong learning. To this end I often spend time looking for books with content that challenges my accepted way of life. I spent my youth and earlier days keeping myself fit. I spent hours practising sports and pitting my strength against others who felt similar needs. I practised judo and was fortunate enough to travel to other countries where I fought against others from different nationalities. Nowadays my needs are different and I can fulfil those needs with a jog or a long walk, stretching exercises and sensible eating. However, those are my physical needs and I find I have continued my quest to find answers to my self development in

Leap?And The Net Will Appear
Author: Sibyl McLendon

In 1994, my life hit rock bottom. My husband was addicted to crack cocaine, my 17 year-old son had just gotten his 15 year-old girlfriend pregnant, we were about to get evicted from our home, I contracted a life-threatening illness with no health insurance and my Mother died very suddenly, and as her only child, the responsibility of this fell solely on me.
